Membership

 

Membership is open to ALL men of SaddleBrooke whether living in HOA1 or HOA2. Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to join the MPMGA. Currently, the association has about 320 members, two-thirds of whom are full members and participate in club events, while about one-third are handicap-only members and simply maintain their USGA handicaps through the association.

 

Membership in the MPMGA is an excellent opportunity to meet other golfers in SaddleBrooke, engage in friendly competition and develop wonderful long-lasting relationships. There are ample opportunities for play with other members through weekly and special events. Members may play in as many or as few events as fits their needs and schedules.

 

Weekly Events

 

The weekly events take place on Thursday mornings and typically alternate between the Preserve and MountainView golf courses. All MPMGA events are flighted so that everyone competes against players of similar skill. A different game is played each week. It can be a 4-man, 2-man or individual format. Sometimes you may choose your partner(s), other times you will be paired by random computer-pick. Many types of different games are played including Best Ball, Scramble, Shamble, Stableford and medal play just to name a few.

 

The cost for weekly events is $5 per event. The association also kicks in $2 per event. Each week winnings are paid to approximately one-third of the field.

 

Special Events

 

Special events are held throughout the year. These events include the Member-Guest Desert Classic, Individual Match Play, Member- Member Match Play, the Stampede, Summer Bash, Winter Bash, the President’s Cup, Tournament of Champions and, of course, the Club Championship.

 

The MPMGA is also involved in tournament play against the SaddleBrooke HOA1 Men’s Golf Association and participates with the MPWGA Women’s Golf Association in the fun Mars-Venus event, and the Sadie and Bubba Hawkins event.

 

The association also schedules an association lunch after golf several times per year.
